Got it in with trip aces (ended up with a boat) against a better boat for the high, and he hit a five on the river to counterfeit my low and get him the scoop.
Objectively speaking, I did not play this tourney very well - I made some clear mistakes that I shouldn't have made. Part of it is the fact that I'm pretty tired, but not being familiar with the actual game (or the Pot Limit structure) contributed.
It's a game I've never played - both getting 5 cards (rather than 4) and I've never played a pot limit game before live. Unlike NL tourneys, calling seems to be correct more often, which really put me off my usual game.
But it was fun, and a relatively cheap learning experience.
The tourney structure was pretty good - particularly for the price. I'm definitely thinking of the stud 8 tourney this weekend, rather than playing the venetian ironman.
